African Hunting 2015!!
All of the talk lately is about ivory bans, country closures, CITES up-listing, etc, etc. Its depressing for African hunting lovers, at least for me it is anyway. So how about some good news for a change! Who's hunting the Dark Continent this year, where, and what for?

I'll be hunting Tanzania, July 1 - 21 in Lunda / with Dean Kendall. Shocking of course, but I'll be looking for another lion! No doubt we'll shoot a couple buffalo and whatever else is available for bait. If I find the right lion I'll take him, if not, then I won't. I doubt I'll be interested in much else - but one never knows of course. Regardless, I'm sure it will be another wonderful safari - my 34th!

How about you???

Sounds like a good hunt Aaron! Not to one-up you or anything, but I will be spending 14 days hunting the Zambezi Valley for big tusked hyrax.

I am taking a group of 7 guys to Botswana for a PG hunt with Tholo on the 25th. I am going to just take it easy, shoot some birds, and wander around with my new double and see if I can shoot an animal or two. I don't care if it is cull animals or whatever. Butch is going and besides him, no one else has ever been to Africa, so it will be fun to go out with the new guys.

Then in August I am going back to Niassa with Kambako. Hope to hunt buff, leopard and maybe fly down to their new concession on Cahorra Bassa and try for a big croc? I know it will be a great trip and have some great folks going with me that I look forward to sharing camp with.

Good Hunting,

Had nothing planned a month ago but won a 5 days hunting trip to RSA. Wanted to see something more so it looks like RSA for one week, Congo/Brazza one week and to end it Senegal 5 days to visit family.

South, Central and West Africa.

Best of luck Aaron and say hello to Dean.

A great guy to have at camp.

Both Roy and Alan and their wives are coming here next week.

And as we usually do, plans for our hunt this year will be finalized.

Spending 10 days in Zambia at Tondwa hunting Sitatunga with Johnny DuPlooy in June.

Going back to Tanzania with a few days in Masailand to get some species that have eluded me so far, then going to try a full bag except elephant in the Selous with Brian Van Blerk in July/August.

Save with the Admiral/Subsailor74 in 2 weeks. Hunting and fly fishing in the highlands with Mike Payne. Leon Duplessis decided a wedding is more important than hunting with me !!!!

Hunting with Biebs, Gustav and Faisal and AR folks with Andrew/Fairgame and Thor in Zambia in November.

Probably go to Botswana to hunt with Jason Bridger at Tholo or a end of season hunt with Leon back in the Save.

Hunting hippo with Andrew everything else is up in the air.

I am going to try to spend a lot of time hunting/hanging out in Africa. Probably shoot less as I am kind of losing interest in killing stuff.

Good luck to everyone going afield!

I have 88 days until departure, B'Ham to Houston, Dubai, Harare, Nuanetsi. Hopefully leopard, buffalo for me and plains game for Will, my 15 year old. Chifuti and Mark Vallaro will be our hosts.

I am taking my old Jeffery double and an AHR/CZ .416 Rigby and Will is taking a Merkel Helix .300 WinMag. Guys who tease Biebs about Blasers being ugly have obviously not seen the Helix. But the damn thing is a tack driver and super fast on the reloads.

So good hunting and safe travels to you all.

I think that just happens. I have been around a couple of times. I wanted only big game, then only birds, then back to Africa, then birds again. It sure happened to my now older hunting buddies.

That said I would like to get a sable before I hang up my Africa spurs and just go hunt in Argentina.

I leave for Zim in june for a shot at Elephant bull, Lion and Leopard.

Zambezi valley , CMS, and Buzz Charlton.

Norway is still allowing import of these (exept of Buzzorina Charltonakis) and this may probably be my only chance at this. Who knows when the EU ban will include Norway.

Hunting with Thierry Labat for leopard and buffalo on Sango in the Save, Zimbabwe from June 19-July 4th.

Taking the bow and hoping to shoot a bunch of stuff with it but not the leopard and buff.

Should be a great hunt and my 4th hunt on Sango so just going to enjoy the hunt and hopefully shoot a big cat and fling a few arrows.

Can't wait!

RSA in October for me. Going to look over some huge unfenced areas and perhaps collect a couple of species I have not taken. Oh! I'm also going to check out a captive bred lion "hunt" for myself and finish with a trip along the "Garden route". This could be very interesting.

Heading to Buybe/Lemco with Andy Hunter the first 10 days of June. Taking friends who are on their first ever buffalo hunt. Our group of four hunters is meeting in Vic Falls for a cigars and a glass of cab in the Livingston Bar. Just received my EIN and sent AES info to Gracy for processing. Christy and Shawn at Gracy have been so helpful. We need to get back to a less bureaucratic system!! Can't wait for the morning campfire breakfast with Andy and friends.
