quickdrawBest How-To Book on Buffalo Hunting?
What's the best how to book on buffalo hunting? Or is there a DVD better than any book? (I received a Safari Press gift certificate and want to take advantage of the sale.)
I have the Perfect Shot. I want more focus on buffalo.
Boddington's Buffalo?
Robertson's Most Dangerous or Nyati?
African Hunter's Nyati?
Any DVD?
Thanks for all of the help! Merry Christmas

MJinesI think Nyati contains the most detailed information. The books by Boddington and Robertson are both well worth purchasing too though.

CanuckI have all of them and they are all loaded with good info. I enjoyed reading Boddington's Buffalo the most though and would grab it first if I was going to re-read them.

CanuckBod on Buff 1 & 2 are the top of the class for instructional buffalo hunting videos.

dogcatAll of them.
However, the best teacher is go with a skilled PH and learn as you go. Just be ready to shoot and hit what you aim at.

Lhook7In addition to all the listed books, you might look at "Africa's Most Dangerous" by Kevin Robertson.

subsailor74Once you start hunting buffalo, you are going to end up buying all of them anyway........so there really is no bad place to start. That said, I would start with the "Boddington on Buffalo" DVD first. It gives you the full flavor of what your first buffalo safari will likley be like, and it is very well done. I would watch "Boddington on Buffalo 2" next to broaden your buffalo hunting horizons, and read Nyati third. All of these are great references, and you will watch/read them many times. After that, you will find yourself buying and reading just about every buffalo book out there. Enjoy!

Yes!
For what its worth, Robertson's 'Nyati - Hunting the Southern Buffalo' is quite a difficult and expensive book to find and much/all of the info is also contained in 'Africa's Most Dangerous'.
'Nyati - Art of Hunting the African Buffalo' and 'Buffalo!' are both good and worth reading.
