Don Heath Passes

editor-antDon Heath Passes
It is with deep regret and sadness that we note the sudden and unexpected death of Don Heath in Sweden over the weekend, where he was in charge of Research and Development for the respected ammunition manufacturing conglomerate Norma Precision.
The holder of Zimbabwe PHs license number 7, Don’s presence throughout the hunting industry is legendry, from his involvement in Zimbabwe’s Parks to the years he ably edited the African Hunter magazine, his ongoing support of aspiring Professional Hunters during Zimbabwe’s examining process and contributions to debates, discussions and the history of hunting in Zimbabwe and Africa in general.
We join the various associations, hunters and friends in extending our sympathies to Don’s wife - Sheila, his children and his family.

mouse93...rest in peace...
P.S. I am speachless...Don paved my road to Zim. Spent a couple of days at African Hunter magazine HQ in Harare with him...Sharp witted, with keen sence for dry humour...Back then I wasn't handloading so he loaded some solids in 9.3x62 (his beloved) for me and encouraged me to use them on Buffalo... Still have a Nyati book signed by him...I will miss him.

PWN375Rest in Peace old friend and my deepest sympathy to Shelia, Jo and Ian.
I just traded emails with him late last week. He had me order some pistol grips and an ammo carrier and we discussed a moose hunt next fall. I will certainly miss our conversations and my daughters, who thought he hung the moon, will be heart broken at this news.

In our last few emails, Don told of experiencing severe headaches and memory loss. He blamed his problems on a head injury suffered during the pre-1980 struggle in his country.

Alan BunnVery sorry to hear this tragic news. I'm glad Don didn't suffer long.
A quick death is the best end one can have in this life.
However, it leaves a terrible situation for Sheila and the children to deal with.
Cheers,
