Now what?
Normally when I hunt I end up finished with days left, and trying to fill it.

Last trip to Zimbabwe I just drove the concession a day, went to Victoria Falls for a few days, fished for Tiger Fish. I even tried changing my flight back earlier, with no luck.

If you were hung in the Victoria Falls area with four or five days on your hands, what would you do?

Though I've never tried for Tiger fish nor had the opportunity. I have fished plenty of times when my hunt was done.

If fishing is an option, I'd sure take it.

There are an awful lot of spring bear hunters who wouldn't even think of booking a spring hunt unless fishing was an option as well Wink

kayaker
fish, raft, kayak lessons, river cruise, flight of the angels heli and microlight, gorge swing, bungy jump, sky dive, fish some more, relax in the gardens, shop, eat pub lunches and drink cold beer, cruise around the parks, see the falls from all angles, swim in Devils Armchair, hike around the gorges.......bored yet.

Its impossible to be bored in Vic Falls

How about lunch on Livingstone island? Granted you have to cross into Zambia, but it is worth it.

The Zambia idea appeals to me. I didn't cross the bridge last time. People at the airport later said the stores actually had stuff on the shelves. Do you walk across or drive across? Any problems coming back to Zimbabwe with purchases?

Bungee...you bet.
White Water Rafting ....oh MY GOD!! That was a fantastic day.
If you have 5 days to kill....do it at least twice.

Count experiences, not possessions.

I would contact Russell Caldecott in Vic Falls and arrange some fishing. He does tiger fishing and also has a place with HUGE largemouth believe it or not. PM me if you wnat his contact info.

I don't shoot elk at 600 yards for the same reasons I don't shoot ducks on the water, or turkeys from their roosts. If this confuses you then you're not welcome in my hunting camp.

When I stayed at the Vic Falls hotel three years ago, they (the hotel) were able to set up the lunch on Livingstone island through a tour outfit. They drove us over and handled customs & immigration. They also set up a tour of the Chobe in Botswana. They drove us to Botswana, turned us over to another guide and we had a boat tour on the Chobe river, lunch, then a game drive in the Park, returning the same day. All in all a very nice day.

I just spent several days in Victoria Falls at the Hotel. I had my daughters with me and we didn't spend a minute without something fun to do. We got Cansaf Adventures to handle all everything and it was "turn key" perfect. I'd contact them and enjoy.

This is one of the "adventures" arranged by Cansaf:

JudgeG ... just counting time 'til I am again finding balm in Gilead chilled out somewhere in the Selous.

Drive across if you can. My wife and I walked across from the Zambian side and at times there are lots of con men on the Zambian side; there to "assist" you of course.

Can't really distinguish what you're doing, or clearly see your face in that dark photo. Would be interested in seeing what you have there, though.

I could get a bottle of wine and just sit and stare at the Falls for a week. It is one of nature's masterpieces.
