Travel with the Tuff Pak
For those who use the Tuff Pak.
Assuming two rifles and the standard ammo with basic clothing, are you paying extra for airlines overwieght baggage?
Did you still have to seperate your ammo into a different bag?
Thank you,
Frank

Frank,

My last trip with my wife and 2 daughters, I packed mine with 3 guns (2 of the guns were light youth rifles and I took my 500/416 double), binoculars and assorted clothing and came in under the 50lbs limit. I always pack ammo separate.

Thank you Perry. That is what I was hoping to hear.

I flew to Zim last summer (through Dulles and Jo'burg) with 2 rifles in a tuffpack and the ammo was NOT in another bag. I don't know what the current regs are but generally you should keep them separated.

Frank,

By the time you put two rifles, in soft gun cases, in there and stuff it with clothes, etc., you will be pushinfg 50 pounds w/o the ammo. I would prefer to pack it separately, which generally is the more accepted practice by the airlines.

I also pack the camera, binocs, etc. in the carry-on.
