<Aaron Rust>Buff in the Caprivi
Does anyone know of the trophy quality of the buff in the caprivi? Elephant tends to be spoken about quite alot but I haven't heard much about buff hunting here and just wonder if it 'ain't' too good?

DB BillAs I understand it the cost of buff hunting in Namibia is very high with small quotas. If you want to shoot one of the big buffs from the Caprivi hunt in one of the Matesti areas of Zimbabwe during September/October as that is when many of the buff in Botswana and the Caprivi area of Namibia move across the border for water...the Zambezi. You will have many, many large bulls to look over.

HunterJimAaron,
I was talking last Saturday to Koos Pienar who hunts in that area. He said there are 10 licenses available, and his firm has 6 of them. They are really after selling their elephant hunts.
The most straight-forward place to do a Cape buff hunt is Zimbabwe, but we are all waiting to see what happens in the election March 9&10, and then what happens after that.

Ku-dudeAaron,
We keep getting mixed messages about Caprivi and the hunting. I've been told that it is dangerous and they are not letting the folks hunt up there. You're on top of it. What is the real story. I'd love to hunt in that area. Ku-dude

<Aaron Rust>I ain't afraid to go there. There is military escort through the part next to Rundu. Now Savimbi is dead they think Unitia will die down a bita or all together... that's remains to be seen. I wouldn't let it stop me.
