GusteauxGPS for Namibia
Before the slamming starts, I did use the sites search function - one thread was from 2005 and one other from this spring with a few scattered in between. None really answered my specific requirements.
Looking for:
1. Hand-held with either rechargeable or replaceable batteries
2. Topo and street/road maps that cover Namibia - plan to rent a car and spend a few days in/around Windhoek, Walvis Bay & Swakopmund
3. Need a feature/function that allows recording of tracks/travel/route that can then be transferred/copied to corresponding topo maps on a laptop - want this feature/ability for the PH to be able to map the roads, trails, water holes, bore holes etc. on his property (100K acres) and transfer the data to his laptop/desktop computer.

tanz2007I would consider the Garmin Oregon or Dakota if I were you. I have the Oregon 400T that I use here in Tanzania and it has been a life saver on many occasions. Get the auto adapter and it works great in the car and does not use the internal batteries.
