I installed a plug in to PS today and its a cool program and easy to do B&W and vintage photos.

All good, but the elephant pic is outstanding.

I agree...there is a pic of Wally Johnson very similar.

Nice plug-in... or you could just shoot TRI-X ;-) I know, i know... you don;t have to say it... :-)

Just think it's kinda cool in a world that sought to eliminate grain we now want to put it back, love it!!!

Baxter yep thats funny, I always been a sucker for those old hunting photos.

Very nice! So, it is something that we can all do with PhotoShop, correct? Can you explain it to us laymen? (i.e. what it is and how to do it?)

yes very easy, if you buy the program you just install it or you can download it for free from piratebay etc.

When you open Photoshop or elements you just choose what kind of look you want. You can choose vintage, classic, modern etc. Very easy to navigate

Very nice but there is no way for you to camo the very best trophy pic of any animal any of my clients has ever taken. I just love that shot of the ele and that buff aint bad either.

Not to hijack, but his is from a 1924 Kodak Brownie. Do they have a setting on the PS where you can add the film sprockets or info around the edges?? The effect is a damn good one!

The photo of your with your magnificent bull is one of my all time favorites. It is outstanding!

Baxter there are many settings but at quick glimpse last night I could see alot of different frames but no one like the one you posted. From what I can see you can do alot with this program

Beautiful pics. Elephant and Leopard pictures are really awsome.

Nice trick to shoot the elphant in the brain just as he was walking across that sand bank, falling on his belly. Makes taking that picture sooo much easier.

Anton, WOW, those pics are wonderful and the ele is in a class by itself.

Those are very neat photos in black and white. I liked them when I first saw them in color, but B&W is even better.

That elephant photo is a classic! One of the best trophy photos I've ever seen, and way better in Black and White.

Fantastic photos, as always! I love black and white vintage-looking photos. About 18 years ago I took some night classes in photography and darkroom. That's when I really fell in love with B&W. On my first safari in 2005 I took two cameras. One of them was a film camera loaded with T-Max 100 B&W film. The pics I took with that camera and film are some of my favorites. Now that I've gone digital, I just change them to B&W in the computer at the photo store I go to. But I will definitely try that program you're using, it sounds great! Thanks!

Glen you can make photos like them above without this program but its alot easier with this. Try it ! And I agree with you, its hard to beat the original !

Another great one... I love B&W because it gets to the essence of the picture, to me, the 'soul' of the picture. We aren;t wowed or distracted by bright colors or fancy effects, just gets to the heart of what the picture is about.

BTW, that's a hell of a coif Anton, i'm desperately jealous.

Anton - I agree with others - your ele photo is one of the best trophy photos I've ever seen. The impala photo is stunning, things like the shine on the horns and on your gunstock really pop in a B&W photo. Both your leopard pics are awesome, but that one on the rug is a truly classic pose. I believe that's the way the hunters in India used to pose with their leopards and tigers, lying on their side like that. Maybe Nakihunter can confirm that.

You are right Anton, the color comes off better than the sepia-ish color in regards to the pic with your brother.

This is good stuff here... what's the story on the brother pic? Moose?

Anton, is that "burned-edge" look on the B&W photo of your brother something that you can select in the program?

Alright, I had to futz around with your brother pic...brought out a little more detail on his eyes and his jacket hood and arm. and lightened the dark a bit

Glen, yes you can select that in the program. About "classic" photos, before I go hunting I try to have a couple of different "shots" in my mind that I want to take if im successful of taking the animal, the pose with the rug I had seen in a old book from India.
Baxter, that pic you did with a brown tone is much better, and it was a Roebuck we were scouting, I like how all the mosquitos around his head popped out.

Great photos all. But that picture with the ele is something that should be framed. Just classic.
