Dan Rather - Sportsman at heart???
Here are some quotes from a recent interview with him. I didn't realize ole Dan was such the outdoorsman.

"For better or worse, I'm a big-game hunter. And I'll continue to hunt big game."

I knew he was from Texas and all, but gee whiz, he continues painting the picture by comparing himself to a rhino being hunted as well.

"No rhinoceros has a hide so thick that some well-placed, hard-thrown, pointed spear can't get under it," Rather told the Daily News.

Here is the article that the quotes came out of.

I'm sure we could put together quite a collection to send Dan Rather on a rhinoceros spear hunt and have Saeed film it.

I've got $2.37 I'll chip in.

Sounds like a metaphor for "hunting for the big STORY".

He's a liberal reporter. Always will be.

If he actually DID hunt, I wouldn't want to be in the same camp...

Hmmm, I just noticed the link & read the story. It's exactly as I called it.

What an arrogant ass. "All my scars are in the front cause I never run". Well maybe he should've had the common sense to walk away from a few stories, but no, he was always searching for that one big B & C story...

I won't miss him one bit.

I don't care if he hunts...

...I don't care if he says he supports hunting...

...I don't care if he is from my home state of Texas.

Fact is, he tried to derail "W's" bid for re-election using less than ethical means; lieing!

And that my friends is where the buck stops with me!

Dan Rather is a much a hunter as John Kerry was! Anything for a media op and positive press.

I am very embarassed to say that his birthplace is my hometown of Wharton, TX.

Any support he gives of hunting is about the only good thing he does.

I'd rather Dan didn't.....come home.
I am with Jeff W. on this issue.
He should be Kerry's huntin buddy from now on.

You can borrow money but you can not borrow time. Go hunting with your family.

Total B.S.

Dan Rather was the news reporter that brought the infamous "Guns of Autumn" to the national TV audience in the early 70's. That was and continues to be one of the most flagrant anti-hunting shows ever aired. That guy is no more a hunter than Kim Bassinger is, and anyone with a half a brain knows she is a spokesperson for PETA!

Dan Rather is a lieing scum bag, and I'm embarrassed to admit he is a Texan. He and John Kerry are twins , one as unethical as the other. Both are PeTA head spies,in my view! Add OLD "BOTTOM OF THE BOTTLE" Teddy Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, and you have the worst four enemies a gun owner, and hunter could have!

If you want to know how I really feel, I'll add to this! Mad

I remember that "Guns of Autumn" show in 1975.
They made up fake scenes. I was so mad that I got my checkbook during the show, guessed at the price of being an NRA Life Member, and sent the check to "NRA-Washington DC." I've been a life member ever since. I feel guilty at getting so much for so little and I now send the NRA ILA contributions.

Life is short. Hunt hard.
