Safari-HuntAnyone had a problem with their safes like me ! Good laugh.
Funny story !

This is how the story goes I'm in a hurry and open the safe take out some documents and slam the safe shut. On the slam I hear a "clunk" something must have fallen in the back of my mind I have this discussion I'm gonna be late or should I rather just chek what fell. Anyway lets check won the conversation. So I unlock the safe and turn the knob but the safe door is stuck. Try as I might the door is stuck ! "Shit !" my 303 must have fallen with the barrel up and jamming the door. "Shit, cannot fix it now have to go or be late."
So I get back early afternoon and try the safe again nothing no budge nada, zip, zero. I slam the safe as hard as I can on the door to maybe get enough force for the rifle to back up same, nada, zip zero success.
What now, what to do ? My safe is solidly bolted from the inside to the wall so I cannot just tilt it and hope for the rilfe to drop back. I get an idea what if I drill a hole on the side and try to leverage the barrel back with a wire screwdriver or something. Well after quite a few attempts I finally get trough the steel. Forcing the screwdriver in I cannot seem to find the barrel it's darks inside there and cannot see whats going on inside there. Wish someone could make a light for a safe like a frigde but what the hell that wouldnt work either since I cannot open the door safe. Ok lets try hole number 2 and drill it a bit lower another struggle and I get the hole trough the steel. I dont have a big drill and the one used to fasten the safe to the wall was a big one that I borrowed.
In goes the screwdriver again and I try and try with no effect, another light goes up why not try open the door while pushing back the barrel. A couple of attempts later I find the barrel jarred between the door and safe. Now I only need to whack it without hurting the barrel back into the safe.
And finally the safe is open what a relief, I hope this never happens to anyone it is not funny and the feeling of hopelesness comes to mind.

]
The marks on the door where the barrel got wedged in.
The culprit my 303 enfield.
The two holes drilled to try and wedge the barrel out.
Again I hope this doesnt happen to anyone here on AR.

smarterthanuMy Brother bought a gunsafe about three years ago. All worked well for about 3 mounths. One day the safe wouldn't open. Luckily it was under some type of warranty and the manufacturer sent someone to his home that broke into the safe and got all his stuff out. A day later a truck arrived to deliver his new safe and haul off the old one.

peterdkthats it frederik
my gun is in my room, when i go down to hunt with you

it would be fun being on a safari with the gun safely locked away in the camp....
good to see you got it open though, if that happened in my safe i would have to call the factory in germany to make them come and open it for me since you cant drill in that safe.
cant wait to see you guys

yukon deltaOops. I thought you were going to say you drilled a hole through your rifle!
I moved a safe from the village back to the city (no easy task, floating it UP the Yukon River, then 4 hrs. down a gravel road and over a mountain range). Now that the safe is in the house, I cannot get it to open. I have the combination of course and it doesn't work anymore. I wonder if the tumblers are messed up from the trip?

Safari-HuntPalmer,
I think it would be cheaper just to replace everything than paying the fee for Walters engineering skills and ideas.

Next thing you know he would sue me for whacking himself in the head or something.
"A couple of minutes later, one end slipped, and there was an almighty THWACK! as the end clobbered him on his ear! Luckily, the handle is made of rubber covered plastic."
