How do you guys find the military grade triggers on CMMG AR-type rifles? I wondered how they were in terms of pull weight, any creep, and how they break. I am asking about the single stage military triggers, not the Geissele triggers. sputster

I highly recommend this trigger as an upgrade. Best AR trigger for the money and it still retails mil spec reliability. http://algdefense.com/alg-combat-trigger-act.html

5 1/2 pound pull for a fun/hunting/plinking/target rifle? Not for me. There are several good AR triggers, but for the money I like CMC (maybe because they're made in Texas ![]() Another advantage, to me, for CMC is that because they are a single unit, then if you decide to change/sell rifles, taking them out is a snap. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

I was actually shocked at how easy a good 5.5 lbs single stager trigger was too shoot. Most of my bolt guns had work done and break at 3.5 lbs. I liked the ALG so much that I have them on all my lowers.

I, too, am a fan of both Geissele and CMC. analog_peninsula ----------------------- It takes character to withstand the rigors of indolence.

As a man who has used ARs for decades in both military and civilian applications, I find the best AR semi-auto trigger is the Xtreme. The original 2 stage AR trigger is the Milazzo-Krieger (basically an adaptation of the M1/M14 trigger- front and rear hooks on the rear of the hammer and a spring loaded sear release). The Rock River 2 stage, G and Xtreme among others are copies of that basic design with twists, or not. The Gieselle is a fine trigger too, but I really do like the solid tool steel Xtreme-which is also salt bath nitrided for smoothness, hardness and wear resistance. It is also less costly than the G-series, which looks to me as if parts are MIM rather than solid steel. In US Service rifle competition, the trigger must be at least 4.5#s, but with a 2.5# first stage, a 2# second is really amazing- no over-travel or creep- just a clean break. Few non-boutique bolt gun triggers do as well. I have not tried the CMMG version.
