I have no experience with a CETEME.

However I have shot an H&K 91 quite a bit. Standard factory type 308 ammo, Commercial Military, and full power handloads, have functioned 100%.

you probably wont (But i mean probably) have a problem with factory ammo. Its when your reloading facory brass that you will run into most of your problem. I used comercail brass to reload but only used it in light cast loads.

Tom,

I've shot the South African stuff. No problems and accurate in my H&K clone. Reloading for military semiautos can be a hit/miss affair on occassion. Haven't tried it for the H&K yet, but would plan on using the same bullet weight and pressure curve to maximize functioning and reliability.

I have shot a lot of reloads in an H&K 91.
Most have been with 165/168gr bullets with 39.5gr of IMR 3031.

Also with 150gr bullets 42 or 43 grains of IMR 3031 will have a similar impact point at 100 yards to Military 147gr ball.

I have shot a lot of deer and a few antelope with a 91.

I did a case test one time, with 11 different cases, they were fired 10 times each with no failures.

i dunno but i've ran about every kind of ammo thru both a 91 and ceteme, it all worked just fine, the SA ammo is actually top grade stuff.

N E 450,

Lad, thanks for the load data!! I was going to ask if anyone had a good load for the HK style rifles. I'll try yours!!

Guess that old IMR 3031 just can't be beat for most 30cal cartridges!! Good thing I have 5 lbs of the stuff!!!

Thanks again,

Mike

Properly assembled the CETME is as reliable as the HK 91.

I have fired commercial (.308 and 7.62 x 51) ,reloads and military ball (Including the excess pressure CBC rounds prior to the recall) with good accuracy and function.

I hear some of the clones have quite a bit of trouble due to poor workmanship. Mine is a very early import.

BTW, the first round of the CBC stuff blew the mag (and disassembled it) from the mag-well of my Belgian FAL, the CETME had handled the ammo with only more recoil and noise.(and threw the cases at Mach I)

That IMR 3031 load of 39.5gr with a 165/168 gr bullet has shot great in EVERY 308 I have shot it in, from semi auto, bolt [ Hunting, Sniper and Match] rifles, and even an a fellas Savage 99.
