jdsAny truth to this rumor?
I've read on a couple of forums that RRA lost a huge contract that they had to supply DEA. Supposedly they lost the contract because the quality of delivered guns was not up to par and these sub-par guns were put out on the open market.
Anyone have any facts about this?

kudu56I haven't read that, and I suppose it is possible. I own one RRA, and two other members of my family own them. All of us are very pleased with the quality and accuracy of these rifles.

Montana MaddnessMight be posible, but I doubt it. Have shot alot of thier weapons and been very impressed. The only reason I went with S&W M&P was I got one at a price that could only be discribed as a steel.

500grainsI heard a rumor that a third of the Sig pistols sold to Homeland Security by the Exeter, NH facility had to be returned due to functioning defects. The Sigs out of Germany are perfect, however.

JaywalkerI don't know if it happened, but that isn't unheard of. I was running a DOD contracting organization in the Eighties and one of our contractors had a lot of 14,000 1911 slides that we rejected. They showed up on the open market with the maker's name on the slides. There are many things that might cause a lot to be rejected that would not necessarily impact its reliability, at least in the short run. In the long run, yeah, those specs are there for a reason.

LapidaryRock River Arms is about 10 miles from my house. I talked to one of my neighbors today who works there. They said that RRA still has a contract with the DEA.

DFCI think RRA is a the top of the heap and Olympic is at the bottom, every other AR maker is in between.
