Looking for a good-bipod for my LMT. Primary use is for shooting varmits and punching holes in paper. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If your barrel is free floated, then I would attach a Harris swivel Bipod to the fore end about an inch or two back from the front.

The one with legs around 8" to 12".

I'd recommend a Harris as well. Consider where you will be shooting from the most. 6" - 8" better for bench and most tactical applications. Less movement to control, more stable than a 12".

Thanks, Biscut. Will 6"-8" give me enough clearance for a 30-round mag? (although there is no need for a 30-round mag for coyotes and chucks).

I have the same system in 3a style and the best bi pod is the GG&G system I use it on both my duty weapons and sniper system and my off duty training guns, easy to use easy to remove and replace I keep two in my duty bag for my gas gun and my bolt on SWAT call outs.

The "Parker Hale" tye is a good bipod, but it is heavy and bulky.

The Harris I recommended is the one that is around 8" at its lowest, and around 12 inches when fully extended. I have found that anything shorter will not work in the field with a gun with a 20 round or more magazine, nor even a bolt rifle in all terrain.

The bipod on an H&K 91/93 is fixed at about 11 inches, I have found it to be about the perfect height for a fixed biod for a magazind gun in most all terrain.

When shooting down off a tall building, or off a hill you just fold up the bipod.
