Looks like a Steyr M95 straight-pull.
Austrian Military rifles and carbines originally.
Then used by the Germans in WW2.

The shape of the magazine bottom and the safety switch on the left rear side of the recv'r are easy identifiers.

Likely 8x56R caliber.
Thousands imported about 25 or 30yrs ago along with WW2 mfg Nazi marked ammo on the required en-bloc clips.

Most of those were Arsenal modified to this carbine or short rifle configuration from their original Long Rifle WW1 pattern.
The pieced in sling swivel inlet in the toe line of the stock likely tells that story.
The added sling swivel to the side of the stock near the grip was added at the time.

Caliber of the original WW1 era production was 8x50R.
The 8x56R conversion was betw the Wars.
