Papa 260Armalite M15A4(T)
I just recieved my Armalite M15A4(T) 1 in 8 twist 20" heavy barrel topped with a Leupold 4.5 X 14 scope three weeks ago. It took 8 months for it to get here. But it seems it was worth the wait. I am very pleased with this rifle. It is shooting extremely well (.4's to .5's) with both the 50gr. Sierra BlitzKing and the Sierra 69gr. MatchKing. I am wondering did I get lucky with this rifle or have any of you fellow forum members had the same kind of experience with this rifle. I am curious to know.

Hello,
I have the same rifle and as you, am impressed with it's performance. I bought mine prior to the "rush" and did not have to wait so long, but it is a quality product. Have not shot anything lighter than the 69's and usually use the 77's and will have to try some of those lighter bullets. My round count shows over a thousand rounds now and whether rapid fire or slow fire, runs smooth as silk.

Papa 260Appreciate the response. I guess these rifles are shooters. Do you shoot Service Rifle competition accros the course? My guess is you do. What powder do you run behind the 69gr.? I use VV N540 in Win. brass with 7 1/2 Rem. BR primer. If you want to try the 50 gr. bullets, I have good luck VV N133 in Win. brass with a CCI BR-4. Some where around 24.5 gr with the 50gr. Nosler BT and about 25 gr. with Sierra BlitzKing. Both are sub .5 MOA at 3250 fps from the 20" barrel.

That is really great shooting. I wish I had one that would shoot both 50 and 69 that well.
I am going to try your load
Thanks

Papa 260What part of Indiana are you from? The 50 gr. bullet load with VV N133 has shot very well in serveral AR 15's. Hope it shoots well in yours. If you decide to try the 69 gr. load using VV N540, it should shoot well some where around 24 to 24.5 grs. Good luck, let me know how it shoots.

Papa 260I live near Evansville. It is cold up there. I spent 2 winters in Valparasio in early 90's on an outdoor construction project. They had first whiteout I was ever in. I did see some nice deer in the Kankakee river bottoms.
