Some of them are Single and Twin ZU series Russian AA guns. 23mm. Maybe a 4 barrel as well
but I haven't been watching that closely.

Probably a whole lot of others as well but definitely some of the ZU's.

I just saw a picture of a couple of "smaller" AA MG's that looked to be around the 14mm.

Was watching one of these blasting away, tonight. Gotta be a bunch of deaf, shell shocked, civilians running around Tripoli. Big Grin Practically under the muzzles. Wouldn't be surprised to find some of Rommel's old relics popping up here and there. Does anyone actually aim and shoot an Ak from the shoulder???

The flame coming out the end of some of those ZU's are pretty impressive. It was longer than the whole gun.

Agree re deafness.

Ya they aim by pointing the gun in the general direction and jerking off rounds on full auto.

Looking at how some of them have been firing weapons in Tripoli - like almost horizontal - as well as the firing of AK's and other MG's into the air, you have to wonder how many injuries occurred.

I also note that this has been commented on by a number of people in the Media - but then the media probably ask some of them to do it to get some good footage for the evening news !!!

It's very common for the media to PAY people in these instances to shoot their gun into the air.

Alot of these guns are new to the owners. Last night I watching FN. It wasn't feeding, so apparently he didn't know how to set the gas regulator. Pretty sure sign this gun was a gift from a western friend.

Was a thing on the Comnunist Broadcasting Corporation Big Grin, last night, about some Candian company supplying the rebels with relatively cheap drones, they've been using for spotting.

The FAL's peobably come from a Libyan army arsenal, as the army was equipped with FN manufactured 50.00's back in 1955, way before his loopiness grabbed power.

The Media are bloody idiots then and should know better.

It might make good TV but they are supposed to report, not "create".

You see the Dushkas all over Africa. Not at all surprising to see them in Libya.

Apache drivers don't like them.

In some ways worse than SAM's.
