PARA1977New Record For Longest Sniper Kill
Congratulations! To Britain's Cpl. Craig Harrison, new world record holder of the farthest documented kill shots. The distance to Harrison’s two targets was measured by a GPS system at 8,120ft, or 1.54 miles. The previous record for a sniper kill is 7,972ft, set by a Canadian soldier who shot dead an Al-Qaeda gunman in March 2002. Cpl. Craig Harrison accomplished this amazing using the impressive .338 Lapua Mag. cartridge

Matt NormanI'm making an educated guess that my son was a grunt that witnessed the Canadian 'Princess Pat' snipers who made the now second-place shots on the 'Whale' during Operation Anaconda in 2003. He was there, ~1000 yards from the 'bad guys' and his squad hung a couple hundred mortar rounds on fire missons. There were Canadian snipers behind them that fired a number of shots over their heads. Word amongst the squad was 'who is that doing the shooting?'
God bless them and 'thank you' Princess Pats!

Antelope SniperThese were not cold bore shots.
It took him about 3 rounds to get ranged in. Once he had the range and wind he killed two in two shots.
