I am trying to value a M1903 Mark 1 Pedersen rifle. Like new condition. Missing 40 round magazine. Includes original bayonet.

The Springfield you have was being sold by CMP some years ago for a price range of 4-600.00 Gunshows usually will ask more like 6-800.00 Now, if you did have the magazine that fits into the left hand side of the receiver, throw the gun away and sell the mag for thousands of dollars. Very, very rare, but have been told some handfull does exist?? Have read that the quantity of those mags were destroyed by fire via orders of the military and think it was done at a West Coast facility. Again, you will see your rifle from time to time for sale at gunshows, so the rifle itself is not a rarity.
Aberdeen,MD. facility may have one of the mags, but not even sure they have one. Bayonet may have a value of some 100.00 tops would think, but that depends on if it is the long one or has been shortened?? Springfields in original condition are becoming more and more difficult to source and CMP is out of them and don't expect anymore in for couple years. Hang onto it. Hope this helps a bit.

As I recall, these rifles were made right around the 1919, 1920 period. What is the stamp on your barrel (near the front sight). Should have the 'flaming bomb' and SA and something like 08-20 (just an example).

There is a big difference in the value of a nice 1903 versus an extra nice one. But I think excellent condition Mark 1s usually trade for $800 to $1,000, again more for exceptional rifles.

Is your finish dark blackish or green parkerized? Under the wrist there should be a circled P stamp, if there are two it was arsenal refurbished.

I agree with MFD that a pattern 1905 bayonet (16 inches) would be $100 with maybe $200 or more for an exceptional piece.

Look at oldguns.net for comparable rifles and prices.

For sure, original 1903s ain't getting any cheaper and they are really fine rifles. Very accurate and very well made.

And for sure if you ever find a Pedersen device, yeehaw!

I misinformed you as to the positioning of the device/magazine in the '03 you mentioned. Actually the device was installed in vertical position and used an entirely different bolt and was canted over to the right side I believe for visibility w/ the sights. The slot on the left hand side of the reciever was for the spent shell casing to exit the action. Might mention that the round was unique and can't be many of those around either. Very few if any were actually seen in use or combat from what I have read. Some years ago according to local fellow, who is well versed on military collectables, tells me that one of the mags was being advertised for sale for something near 25,000.00
