Two old guns- need appraisal!
Ok, I have an interesting story (at least I think I do)!

My neighbor and friend has two old rifles that are original (as far as I can tell)
and look to be in good condition. They are actually his moms rifles and they were
given to her years ago, to pay a debt.

The first rifle is a 350 Rigby. The second is a 375 Holland and Holland.
As you can imagine, these are not common here in my home state. I have no idea
what they would be worth.

I'd really like to email pics and get some ideas on values (no I'm not buying them).
I'm just trying to help a friend out and am confident that this would be the place to
do it.

I haven't posted pics in years. I can try tomorrow or if you'd be willing to help, I'll email them
to someone who might be interested in helping. Thank you. Please send me a pm

Yes, perhaps we all could see the pics?

Here they are, but a bit mixed up I'm afraid. You can see the mounts differ, one has a bolt peep, at least one has a brake, I see the lower part of t G&H sidemount on one. Jason is going to ask the owner if there are maker's markings on top of the barrels.

The 350 Rigby looks like a pretty honest gun - other than the brake.
These have gone up quite a bit lately with the new Rigby rifles on offer. That, or just because I traded mine off. That's usually how it works...
Are you wanting opinions on their values?

Yes, just an idea. My friend will likely inherit these and will never sell them (at least I think). He is just interested in knowing the value.

I'll give you my 2 cents then.

I don't know much about the .375 so I will comment on the 350.

How is the muzzle break attached?
That is the only non-original thing about that rifle and a decent concealment could be done.

The rifle is definitely an original John Rigby rifle built on a magnum length SB action. It was once scoped but that must not be with the rifle now (?)
The cocking piece aperture sight is original.

I would say that from the pictures it is in very good condition - the wood looks pretty good, maybe refinished at one time. The cut away on the right side of the magazine looks a little washed out on the edges so the stock may have been sanded and refinished at one time. The edges of the wood look a bit rounded but the flat top checkering looks original. The shaping of the wood may be original, but just different from the one I once owned which I know was 100% correct.
A lot of the 350s were rebored to 375H&H but should be marked as such if that was done.
I don't think you could find another for less than $7500

Thank you; I was hoping to get a dollar estimate.

As was said earlier: "If only those guns could speak".

He could put them on Gunbroker with a very high reserve and see what the high bid is.
