octaveThanks for your reply Macifej,I have always like these rifles but I am not going to pay double just to own one.The search will go on.

MacifejThey are excellent rifles - make sure you own at least one in your life.
I think $2400 is fair for a NIB one.
Kittery Trading Post in Kittery Maine has a PSG with a Zeiss on it for $2000. I think it is a 30mm Diatyl, but my memory isn't so good.
2.5-10x44?
Who knows.
With the econ sucking, and gun prices growing it is amazing what sniper rifles and black rifles are going for.

It's greed on the gun owners part. They are speculating ahead of time these type of firearms will become scarce so they are jumping on the band wagon ahead of time to make the most money they can. I've watched the sites that deal in these type firearms and as soon as Obama was elected the prices started going up. the gun people are a greedy lot.
Go to the Steyr USA website and take a look. You will find that $2400 isn't out of reach for one.
