Remingtom Mod.600
I just picked up a Rem. Mod. 600 in 308 cal. according to my gunsmith its in 90% condition.
Does anyone have one and how does it shoot for you?
I plan on using 150 gr. shells for deer.
Thanks

Most of the ones I have played with shot very well, probably because the have a short stiff barrel and thats condusive to accuracy..But like any rifle new or used thats always a crap shoot dependant on the barrel as a rule...

Bought one in 1965 in 308. Shot well, only problem was the plastic rib cracked one winter. Wish I still had it, but I think the model 7 is a better rifle than the old model 600. Also Didn't like the bottom of the stock being square. Let my buddy shoot it once (all it took) and he ended up with "ScopeEye" and 5 stiches.

I have 4 of the little jewels at the moment. One of my favourite hunting rifles, in whichever caliber is approprate for the game, as they are so handy. I have had 3 others in the past. Usually these rifles are quite accurate, especially in 308 (at least in my experiance). - Dan

I had a M600 Mohawk in .222. It was the most accurate rifle I have ever owned. 3/8" groups were the norm.

I agree with what has been said. Have a 600 in a 308 and will have three touching at 100 yards. One of the most accurate rifles I own. Also, the group is with a load using 150 gr. round nose. It is a great woods and brush gun.

Due to the barrel and weight, don't expect it to be a total pussycat. Make sure you have ear protection!
