A friend of mine inherited this rifle recently. I was wondering about the value where in the world the serial number is located. I wouldn't call it "good" condition...more like "heavily used"... but to my eyes it does not have any modifications done. It is missing the ramrod.

Any insights on where to do some internet research or reccomendations on books? We didn't measure the barrel, I understand the original barrel length would be 36" but a lot where cut to 33 or 20...
