Model 70 Winchesters...numbers made in each chambering...
Does anyone have information as to how many Model 70 Winchesters made in each chambering? For example, how many made in .250-3000?
My own question is how many made in .270 Weatherby magnum. I know they were offered from 1988-1998...but have no numbers on how many
in this chambering were made over the years.
I've seen very few.

Thanks,

Tom

If you look in Rules book you will get a pretty good idea for Pre-64's but when it comes to post-64's I have not seen even a rough number ever listed anywhere.

I would assume that there werre not many made in 270WBY.

Thanks for reply. My M70 .270 Weatherby mag. was made in 1989...that I know...but I'd never seen another for sale on auction, at gun
shows...nor my "gunnie" friends. I contacted the Winchester Collectors Assn. and am awaiting a reply...maybe they have data.
It seems production numbers should be available somewhere...

Best Regards,

Tom

I have a good friend of mine that has a Model 70 push feed in .270 Wby. Mag. He bought the gun new in the late 1980's. He really likes the gun, and has taken a number of deer, and pronghorn with it. I have seen them for sale at gun shows, and in some of the local gun stores. They however, are not very common.

I've seen a couple of them around over the years in 270wby. I'd take a stab in the dark at a couple thousand may have been produced over the years. Which is not very many but enough that they do make the odd appearance.

I'd like to hear numbers on post 64 wins as well. If you find a source please post it.
