Nice looking winchester. Any kind of info on it.
Where you found it, any kind of history, and are you going to shoot it. Nice you got the shotgun butt. Congrats on a wonderful rifle

I am working on it, barrell has a bunch of proof marks (apparently proofed in London), max. load, etc.. Does anyone have any odea the best way to get history info on these old guns? And, Hell yes I'm going to shoot it. Might even take it across the big pond.

That is a beaut' of a gun! Be glad it has the shotgun buttstock---my .405 (1885) has a steel crescent butt-plate and it isn't loads of fun from the bench.
