I have a friend that has 1873Winchester in 44-40 he told me the gun was in 75%to80% shape.And that he would sell it for $1500 i'm not intersted in the gun but was wondering what its worth.

That rifle is worth any where from $850 up to $1200 easy. In the right venue, maybe what he is asking. As with all collectibles, condition, condition, condition.
