this one i bought from a second auctiot,stamped bortmess arms company,its a 257 weatherby i am wondering if it could be an early weatherby has the crown like touches.here are some more pics.

question is mute now item ruined by UPS THEY PACKED IT AND SHIPPED IT AND CRACKED THE STOCK AT THE WRIST DESTROYING IT BEYOND REPAIT THIS ITEM WAS UNFIRED.sorry just real pissed off item was insured but that is not the point it was a piece of gun work that cant be replaced

To my knowledge Bortmess was not a Weatherby contractor, only a custom and semi-custom shop.

Ihave seen another example that did not resemble a Weatherby at all.
