Stephen PalosPlease help value BASA's Pre 64 Win .270
The Big Bore Association has a 270 Win in Pre 64 Winchester.
We need to sell it to raise funds for the building of our next Comemorative Rifle which will be a .375 H&H in Pre64 to honour Harry Manners & his exploits. Our plan is to auction or tender-sell it here in SA.
As a guide to value I'd really appreciate input from the knowledgable crowd on AR. I am curious to know if being in the makers own calibre is specially significant.
Photo's are of poor quality I'm afraid:

GatogordoThey seem to be going up all the time here. I'd put it at about US$800, give or take a $100 sold HERE in the US. I have zero idea what the market is in SA.
AFA as collector value goes, if it is not in the original chambering, barring unusual circumstances, for example a famous owner, it's only worth whatever it's worth as a shooter taking into account the value of the action.

onefunzr2I don't mean to hijack your thread but I find it funny that the two rifles you mention to sell as fund-raisers for the Big Bore Assoc., the 270 Win and the 375 H&H, neither is a big bore.

That's just the point - WE ARE SELLING THEM NOT BUYING THEM!
