Remington 1100 shotgun age....
Gents,

I have an 100 with AAMM on the receiver. Not sure how to interpret the chart.
Your help is appreciated.

The Date Code will be on the Barrel, not on the frame.

AAMM doesn't follow any of the standard markings for a Remington date code.
The First letter should be singular for the Month of production.
The second also singular for the Year.
The only time double letters were used for the year/mfg was 1943 (MM) to 1953 (ZZ)
1943 much too early for a Mod 1100 of course.

Check the bbl near the breech for the date code.
It could also have an assemblers mark/letter with it as well.

For a couple years ,late 1999 to late 2001,,Rem stopped stamping barrel date codes on the guns altogether.
Then started the practice again in that late 2001 time period.

The date code will be the one nearest to the frame.

Any other date codes stamped further out going towards the muzzle would be Repair Codes or other Factory indicators.
Same letter system used but followed by a '3' if it was a factory repair (never know what the repair is).
Other code letters are a '4' for 'Returned from the Servicee Dept w/no work done'.
There are others, I can't recall the Letters used.
One for an Employee Sale.
One for a Canadian Sale
Likely others.

I have a Remington Mod 10T shotgun with the Date code of course & followed up the bbl by 3 Repair Date Codes.

Thank you. I had a gunsmith inspect. Built in 1965.
