Aspen Hill AdventuresYou should have killed that kudu!
Nice shooting on the rams, the second one looks like a tough old warrior.

Gerhard.DelportAnn,
The 2nd Impala has a lot of caracter.
It was a kudu paradise and this one was still a baby...
If you ever had up to 12 kudu around you with in 30 yards and 4 in 50 inch plus trophies. I did not take pictures of all because I would have gone kudu crazy.
Here is another 3 bulls.

TheBigGuyI'm jealous. Harvesting an impala with a bow is thoroughly satisfying.

SorokoCongrats on both Impala. Nice shots as well - but then you do shoot a bowtech which makes it easier

Big Kudu aplenty and Impala rams this time of the year - my guess as to the Location would northern Limpopo, right?

Gerhard.DelportThe property is between Thabazimbi and Ellisras.
I am always a Bowtech Allegiance fan.

TheBigGuySeriously, IMHO, Impala are simply addicting to bowhunt. I don't know what exactly it is. Their natural wariness, their speed or their natural survival instinct. You just can't help but feel you've taken the blue ribbon when you get one with a bow. Size doesn't matter. You want to do it again anyhow.
Your second buck was a scrapper for sure. A most excellent specimen. However, I feel Impala are all earned.
You say you were in Kudu heaven and your photos drive that point home. But I think a point that also needs to be driven home is this, if you are in good impala bowhunting country, DO NOT IGNORE IT!
IMHO, Impala's are seriously underated only because of their often prodigious numbers. If they were rare an awful lot of bowhunters would get skunked on these.

Gerhard.DelportTrue,
But I must say that all the animal species are in great condition.
There are real monster Impala on the property, if I remember there was 26" Impala harvested in the season.

J P BakerI have a customer that just returned from a hunt in that area. He sent me an e-mail today with very few details but stated that he had shot a MONSTER Impala. The PH wants to know if I could have a mount ready for the shows in January.
The hunter said he would call in a few days with the details.
My thoughts are, it must be "monstrous" if the PH is excited about this one and wants it in his booth.
