Best Sight's?

For hunting I would suggest that you use a fiber optic type. There are many brands and styles to choose from but the fiber will give you much better performance in those "magic" minutes when the light is low.
I have to stick with the larger diameter fiber because of the OLD eyes aint what they use to be.
I have used the PSE RS Glow for years but the way the fiber is looped and not supported is not very durable, so when you look at them, check out the design and make sure the fiber is supported.

Hey Aquavit -

I was looking at those but had no reference on them. Now that I have one let me ask-
1) Dose it work well in "bad" weather?
2) Does it stay snug after continued shooting?
3) Is it quiet?
4) Can you use a light source or is it bright enough in "low" light? [Wink]

1. Yes, as long as it's a decent scope and not a BSA(which are not waterproof in the least).

2. Yes, the mount, like all mounts, will "settle" after a few hundred shots and work fine.

3. Yep, I put a limb saver accessory absorber on it.

4. You can see the dot in any light, and they're compatible with night vision - if you were so inclined. I figure that the dot buys you a good 15 - 20 minutes over fiber optic sights.

With no peep sight, a consistent anchor point is key, but then again, you don't have to worry about a drop of water or a "fuzzy" getting in your peep. Get a scope with changeable target dots and think about the size of the scope as you can run into mounting problems with some of the fatter 30mm tubes. The smaller Aimpoints, Leupolds, and AMT sights work good.

I used a Mack sight that was a scope with a 3.5 magnification on it. I really liked it but found it too much when hunting. I went back to a round sight with cross hairs but still am looking for something new. How are the dear out your way? With this past winter I thought they would have taken a beating but it seems just the opposite. I have seen herds of 50 or more in PA, De, and Md. I was out your way on the way to West Virginia and took some time by Somerset to see some people and got to look around at the deer population there. I saw one hell of allot there too. [Smile]

Yep there's alot of deer but i can never find any off good size around here good meat hunting tho ^_^plenty of them for that just cant find any 8 pointers + of good spread.

Plenty of deer around here. I missed a monster 10 point with the bow this last season, but connected on a decent 8 point in Armstrong county. This year looks very promising.

Every day there is 20 or 30 Deers in my back yard and 10 to 20 Turkeys but are Buck to Doe poplation is very poor.When I was Hunting last year I seen 48 does before I seen a buck.But it was warth the waite a 8 point with a 16 inch spread in the freezer.

The doe to buck is off in many areas but people still want to eat horns [Confused]

An HHA Optimizer mount - if I remember right. these are available in mail order catalogs.

I've been on the reloading page for a while and never knew the archery page ewas here.

Been using the Matrix this year and like it alot, you can make adjustments without any tools. The little light that you can get with it is well worth the money. With it you can see you pins well into darkness and with a little modifying you can prevent the light from being seen by anything but you.
