Don't worry about how much weight you can draw; penetration, caused by arrow velocity, is what kills. Poundage is only one small piece of it. The 40-45 pound legal draw weights most states have for big game hunting were set back in the 60's and 70's. Archery equipment has come a long way since then. The 45 pound compound I shot back in the 80's launched arrows at around 160 fps. Most new compounds will do significantly better than that at much less weight, and I killed plenty of deer with that bow. Just make sure that you can draw your bow easily (and quietly) from both a sitting and standing position. It's no fun watching a big buck go by and not being able to draw your bow back!
