Game callers experiences ?
Has anyone tried hunting with game callers ?

What are your experiences so far? Any product you would recommend (for hogs)? I am thinking of it to use as a complement to odor baits

I am quite interested in the Cass Creek one http://www.casscreek.com/prod_boar.html, but I am not much convinced yet about how realistic those grunts and squeals might be ... from what I can hear from the demo, those sounds seemed quite artificial , but would like some first hand opinion if anyone happened to hear them directly out of the product itself - and better if in the field thumb

Thank you all in advance

The link doesn't work for me.

I use calls extensively. I don't know what animals you're targeting. For predators calling is extremely productive. for animals in the rut it's great too. Example white tails, moose, elk. We called in a little bear a few weeks ago.

Consider that you have to appeal to all the senses and it helps. If you combine a decoy with calling it helps a lot to get the animal closer, rather than just making an appearance. I'm not sold on scents-although I do use them sometimes. I'd prefer to just keep my scent to a minumim.

Thanks for you replies, chef

My intended targets are hogs, and the link went with an unwanted final coma ... the god one is http://www.casscreek.com/prod_boar.html

My strategy is just as you said, combining odors & sounds baits, masking my own presence away with scent killers... now I am looking for a quite confident sound bait

I can't help you on the casscreek but I use a foxpro fx3 that is very realistic. I can hang it from a tree and use the crow fight or crow distress. I use a 22 long rifle with subsonic hollow points and usually only takes 1 or 2 minutes before the crow start buzzing overhead. Thats when I use the remote and turn the sound way down, This brings the crows even lower and eventually one or more will perch below just above the call to Investigate, after the first one is turned into a pedestrian the rest of the mob really gets mad.
