Re: Novice seeking advice
Wimpie has good advice.

My brother just bought a Parker and it is awsome. Very quiet and very accurate. I shoot a Mathews now, but for the first 11 years I shot Hoyt. My brother had a PSE before his Parker and it was an 'ok' bow.

Here is my opinion. All reputable bow companies these days have very good quality equipment, however, I have found that some bows are more forgiving than others. Some shoot faster than others with the same draw wt. and draw length and same arrow.

I pull 72lbs on my Mathews Ultra and shoot Gold Tip arrows with 100 grain muzzy's at about 288fps. I am satisfied.

My brother is pulling 66lbs on his brand new Parker with the same arrow wt and is shooting 270fps...but his bow is real real quiet.

It also depends on just how much $$ you want to spend.

Today, if I wanted to get a new bow, it would be one of the 3: either a new Mathews, Bowtech, or Parker.

Good luck.
