rickt300Urban Indianapolis bowhunting
I am planning to bowhunt near Indianapolis this year during the late archery season mainly to avoid spending days with my inlaws at Christmas. Looking over the DNR website I noticed that there is an urban bowhunting section and Indianapolis is listed. Is there really that many deer in and around Indy? Should I contact the city to find out where to hunt?

artyI don't know about Indianapolis in particular, but all the other urban areas have tons of deer around town. I was driving a highway around suburban Washington D C, and saw a deer with it's head cut off.
I hunt the rural/suburban areas around Detroit and Ann Ann Arbor, and can see around 15 houses from one of the stands. Be very careful about shot placement. I had one deer almost make it too somebodys flower garden.
