ncbomanWhy would you collect something that doesn't work?

swampshooterIf scent-lok doesn't work for you then you're doing something wrong.
velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

poulsboenlighten me einstein, why do you say it does not work? is this from your own exper. or are you just talking out your hat?

Larry MatherneThere was an article in I believe in Field & Stream that basically says it doesn't work. I have it and use it, but I'm undecided. I've got plenty close this year to deer unsented with it, but with all the varibles involved, not really convienced that sent lock was the reason. All the stuff you have to do to make it work supposedly is good to do in any case.

ncbomanI've never owned or used any of it so I can't speak from experience. I just never bought into it and I've killed a pile of deer.
I do believe the silver ion technology in some longjohns and headcovers work very well ... along with being clean. I wear polartec nearly every day in fall/winter, hunting or not. I've also had deer very close and unaware numerous times when I smoked my outerwear in hickory smoke. That's been my experience.

Larry MatherneYeah, I use the silver ion stuff, often in conjunction with the scent-lock, so it's hard for me to tell what is working, maybe everything.
I place all of my hunting clothes in a air proof container with fresh cut pine limbs, it gives me that pine scent that drives women wild. Well at least it doesn't seem to hurt anything.

Woodrow SWhat would the world be like if every gadget worked as advertised. Perhaps if Billy Mays was selling it on TV it would be even more popular...ya think? Ever hear of Fred Bear or Chuck Adams or any number of people that are or were hugely successful...long before Scent-Lok was ever dreamed of. I wonder how they did it? I believe that the Scent-Lok mania is past its prime...by all the discount adds I see around the various shops. The merchandisers are having different thoughts about this stuff too.

dustofferI don't use pine branches, but the local cedar--or ashe juniper to be more correct. Just crunch up a few limbs and put in the bag with my clothing and the next time I hunt, I smell like a cedar bush. Of course, I shower with the hunter's non-scented soap prior to a hunt too.

jbderunzI am currently using Scentlok trouser+jacket+balaclava when bow hunting. Perhpas it's mainly a morale support but I feel better clad this way.
I apologize for being this rude: here in France we spend more time celebrating around the table than hunting. Whenever I fart, no mephitic foul odor will get out of the trousers. Try yourself, that works.

I like your "je me souviens des allemands", we also do.

Larry MatherneJean, I must admit I never thought of scent-loc as being useful in that way.
Have you been to Des Allemands, La? I was suprised to find out that there is a Des Allemands in France as well.
The area I am from is known as La Cote des Allemands, it was first settled by folks from Alsace in the early 1700s.
