Anybody use AXIS FMJ's
I was going through just about every arrow manufacturer trying to find a weak enough spine at 25" @ 70# to meet our states 6 grain per pound of draw and came across the Easton AXIS FMJ 400's that will do it with feather fletching.
Any of you use these or know someone that does and can comment on them? Or give me another option that will meet 420 grains and feathers?

Thanks! beer

I shot axis FMJ 300. Best shaft I have ever owned! I shoot the 300's due to their heavy weight. Plus they take a beating.

A friend and I switched to them last year and like them. He wanted a heavier carbon and when we wnet to get him some arrows saw these but were more money. Seeing they were having a contest for a full equiped Polaris Quad/treestand/wagon if you spent over X amount of dollars you got a free $40 chance for the ATV. SO I bought hime 6 and me 6. He ended up with a better heavier arrow that he expected and I wanted pass thrus. I have gotten deeper penetration and pass thrus now. I like them and don't have the fear of a Carbon Explosion in my hand/arm.

I just can't find them now, catolog or online?

Tip/insert area can bend with bone hit, not sure what would have happened to arrow if it was only carbon? Maybe nothing, I dunno

RustyD, are speeking from experience or is that what "someone" told you?

I shot them all last year with excellent results. Shot an elk, 5 hogs and 4 deer with great penetration (mostly pass throughs)and no bent, broken or ruptured shafts. Great shaft for the money because they are so tough.

Experience. My friend has not had one bend. My head tip, threads and all got bent, not sure what happened. SO the end was bent. It defelcted off a leg. But the killed 5 other deer and I had several misses into trees and ground and theose held up.
But I still like them. I like the alum over carbon to save me from carbon splinters. Haven't seen any other alum over carbons.

Found some cool camo wraps to put on.
I will pick out the feathers when I go to the bow shop to have them cut and fletched.

Thanks again!

I like the original look they came in, sort of a diamond plated tuff look as their name implys. Like a FMJ diamond plating wrap
