Does anybody here hunt with a crossbow ? Iam considering about buying one, probably one made by Excalibur.

I haven't used one yet but have been looking at a
150# draw horton at walley world for next year. I will try to get one when they go on closeout after
season. I hope some experenced hunters give you some replies.

Red, I have used one on and off for a few years, your choice is the best going, for a lot of info and input pop over to their site {Excaliber} and talk to that group

Red, I just got one this year as Georgia allows anyone to hunt with one. I got an Excaliber, my hunting partner has a Horton. The Horton is smaller, more compact but just as heavy. The Excaliber is more accurate and seems to be better made. I like the scope package on the Excaliber as well. It is no problem to hit a playing card offhand at 40 yds with this bow. It performed as advertized on a doe at 25 yds. Next year I will get a range finder, as know I can shoot further but must know the distance fairly well.

Crossbows are fun weapons to hunt with. I killed a doe with my Horton Stag last season.

I ended up buying an Excalibur Exomag that I am presently learning to use. It is good fun.

I have a Horton Hunter Supreme. If the excaliber is actually more accurate, then that is FRIGHTENING! I can post a picture where I "robin-hooded" an arrow at 30 yds. I have dislocated both my shoulders and am thinking about getting an Excaliber as well. The Horton is a good bow though... My advise is forget the scope and keep all shots under 25 yds. Sure I can "targets" further, but targets don't jump the string A deer through a scope at 5 yds is just brown fur in the crosshairs. If you want to shoot further than 25 yds stick with a gun.

I shot a hog deer hind with this xbow this year and I'm very happy with it.
314fps 529grn bolt/arrow. the secret to the speed of this bow is the length of the power stroke, it is a 165# xbow.
I used 23" 2219 with 125grn G5 Montec broadhead.
This is more foot-pounds than I was getting out of 92# Hoyt powertec at 29.5"
