The rut must really be on. At about 12 o'clock there was 5 in one group right out in the open woods. My bow was strapped to the 4-wheeler, though. Then after i parked and walked the shelf and over the hill, jumped a single one up. Later that evening i saw 2 cross right near the place my husband usually hunts, but he was someplace else. Then there was a lone deer came down a path and went into the briars. 60 yards away, but when it re-emerged i was really excited thinking it might come closer. But then a buck (possibly either a 4 or 6 point came trotting down the hill toward it. It looked at the buck and ran back into the briars. The buck stopped then and hurried back toward some other woods. Then another very very small deer came down the trail. It had a real white face and i thought i saw spikes. It trailed the first deer and disappeared into the briars after it. That small deer might have been following it's mother.
