What kind of arrows are you using?
I finally made the leap from aluminum arrows with feathers to something a little more modern: Easton ST Axis Full Metal Jacket 340's. Just wondering what everybody else is shooting these days.

I jumped to FMJ's in a 400 spine!!

AWESOME arrow as far as I can tell.
Haven't had a chance to use on game yet.
Tuned with broadheads to shoot almost identical to field points. Wasn't able to do that before!

Am gonna try some ST Axis Realtree shafts and see how they do also!

In Washington you have to shoot 6 grains of arrow for each pound of draw which means a heavy gpi arrow which is why I went to the FMJ to begin with!

Mine are antiques....been using some of the first carbons made by Beman, nearly 20 years old. Some have taken six animals and still going strong. Out a dozen purchased I still have nine left....fletchings have been replaced once.

Prior to GT, I used PSE Carbon Force Extremes until they quit making them.

The GTs are good arrows IMO.

SDhunter
- cane arrows with trade points for selfbows
- wood (douglas fir, ash, cedar, hex) for longbows
- aluminums for recurves/compound before 1994)
- carbons are Beman MFX's and Carbon tech for recurve

I still have some of everything in my arrow rack.

I love the romance of wood/cane, but they are both time consuming and expensive to get the quality I expect. Probably the most expensive arrow... if I consider my time and material cost.

Aluminum are great knock around arrows, but I don't plan on buying any more once I use my supply.

I have come to like carbons for their flight characteristics & consistency. I do not like their lightweight qualities, but can easily remedy that with weight tubes.

As far as broadheads I have used Bear Razorheads, Montecs, Zwickey, Magnus, Snuffer, Woodsman, Journeyman, Zephyrs, trade points, and even obsidian and a few others I cannot remember.

I like solid nonvented broadheads be they two or three blade. I do not like the whistle effect I seem to get with vented heads. No matter how perfectly my setup is tuned.

It depends on what your hunting. For really big/tuff game I think the Grizzly Stix are the best. For everything else carboe express are hard to beat.
