I am looking into doing a big game hunt in Argentina. I have been corresponding with Cerro Indio Safaris about a potential hunt. Do any of you have experience with this outfitter? They use Logistic Solutions for shipping. Has anyone had a good experience getting their trophies shipped from South America back to the US?

I used them last April and really enjoyed it. The stag hunting was fantastic. I'm currently waiting for my shipment and so far am please. However it's is expensive but I knew that going into it.

In response to the sticker shock I received, I did some looking around.

Be prepared to pay around $800 apiece to get your animals back. About twice as much as Africa.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

Mustbhuntn, I have hunted with Cerro Indio Safaris taking numerous animals and have nothing but good things to report. Very well-organized, experienced outfitter. Did not bring trophies back so cannot comment on shipping.

Best of Hunting,
Mark Hampton

Dear Mustbhuntn,
I hunted (my family were with me) in La Pampa with CazaPampa hunting at La Mota ranch, was a great experience to hunt with them, shot with them redstag, puma, mouflon, Blacbuck, Axis deer and Buffalo.

Very well organized operation & had the best food there, later after 21 months of time, finally, I got all my trophies (at some point of time I was loosing hope to get them here in Pakistan) in good shape.

Hope this will give you an idea, need any more info you may PM me.

Regards
IH

Well it's been a year now and still don't have my trophies back but think it has more to do with the airlines than anything else.

Your biggest problem will be getting your trophy capes and horns/antlers home. In some cases the capes/skins will be ruined by red mold. With so many excellent hunting outfitters in Argentina, it is hard to imagine why the independent shipping agents are so bad. Most all of the reputable outfits give great service, excellent hunting and do their part in trophy prep, but then it goes to the shipper. You might as well be dealing with Mars. Argentina doesn't allow outside/foreign business partners or this debacle would not exist.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
