Hi all. Bad news from this side of the Andes. Less than a month ago ,the military authority in charge of the control of firearms ,published a resolution in which almost every kind of ammo is banned-they include hollow points (barnes x, match BTHP),"expansive" -sic-conical (RWS KS),that expands in petals (Barnes, win FS),etc, etc, a long list. After a series of pressures by the shootig comunity the resolution is stand by now.
But...the socialist goverment is trying to pass a law that will limit the firearms to ONE (-1-UNO!!!). In the meantime again the forementioned authority has made a statement that the only one that can own firearmas are the police and armed forces, and the private citizen is only a "TENANT" not a legal owner. This is in preparetion for an INMINNENT REQUISITION of our firearms with the goverment not paying a cent. This is the Democracy in the hands of socialists.

When the military was in charge of this country ( a dictatorship they said), anyone who has been checked to be an honorable citizen can has his firearms , and nobody will bother you.

Pulki.

Clearly, your people had more freedom under the military "dictatorship" than they do under Socialist "democracy".
Unfortunately, most countries are headed for the "Socialist Democracy Paradise" under which you are suffering.

Pulki: that hideous figure of the "tenant" is also in force here since 1975. And we are facing the same menace from the leftists. Get in touch with the people at ALUTARA, who do the good work.

Nainital: A couple of years ago, we founded an association following the NRA lines. But the goverment-Interior Ministry- would not authorize it.In the mean time our branch of the Safari Club and other people-Shooting Clubs, etc.- are all knocking doors. In this country there are nearly 1.000.000 firearms legally inscribed and controlled, that belongs to 500.000 citizens. In a country of 15 million inhabitants, this has to be an important group of voters. But we lack the information of who is anti . We need to act in that direction.
Un abrazo.

Where is Pinochet when you need him? I never thought of Chile in this light; as a non democratic socialist country. One has to wonder how this happens. How these people get elected into power. And in the same light, I fear for Argentina.

It is good to see all SA citizens helping each other out. I have a Chilean friend and one from Argentina and they can barely be in the same room with each other. Thank you gentlemen!

Hello all:
Update of the situation here. The Goverment Authority in charge of the control of firearms, finally agree to have a meeting with our chapter of the SCI. It took place some days ago ,in it they open their ears (I wonder if their hearts too) to what we have to say. They promise to continue the talks and assured the resolution that banned almost al kind of ammo had been put aside.
In the meantime , the CODAF ,the asociation of firearms owners, is rising funds to start litigating to revert the status given of "TENNANTS" instead of owners. This has given some relief to all of us. But we know its just a lull in the struggle to convince the
authorithy that the sportman is not a danger to the society.

Tell that to the sons of bitches we have in power now in our country. From the wretched inept and incompetent pretender to the Presidency to our Democrat (socialist) Congressional leaders who are hell bent to turn this great nation into Russian in the west. Carl Marx and Lenin must be laughing in their graves.

The cartoon of the week, in real life, was the picture of that Obama buffoon bowing to the Emperor of Japan. Could not believe it. bewildered

And we have a populace who somehow believe that the government is their parent and is responsible for providing them with all their needs, even if it means taking from others who have earned what they have. Re distributing the wealth they call it; stealing is what I call it.

I wonder how many of the fools on this forum, and in particular on the political thread, who supported Obama are now regretting what they did. A plague on their houses. middlefinger

I well remember the words of Margaret Thatcher....'The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money'?
