This will make you slap yourself!.

1/2 cup Yellow corn meal
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup minced onion
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup cream style corn (optional)
3 tbsp bacon drippings

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Add the other ingredients & blend well. Shape into small balls with a spoon or fingers. Deep fry untill golden brown. Delicious with shrimp oysters & fish. Serves six. Enjoy. Compliments of DIXIE.

BearClaw - That receipe looks awesome. My mouth is already watering. We're having venison stirfry tonite and I'm not waiting on the sea food to try this. I live in southern York County close to the Mason / Dixon line so I guess I'm almost Southern. Thanks a bunch!!!

Bear Claw has it right! For variation, you can sautee the onions in the bacon drippings till soft before adding to the mix. Also, substitute white corn meal for a lighter Hushpuppy.
