Hi all

I am now looking to get a drilling with a 16Ga short, the 65mm.

Is it brass for that caliber to find today? I am thinking of loading it with slug and also to load for bird hunting.

But, will the slug be hard to make accurate? What slug is to be used? I know it is more than one on the marked, guess it has to do with what I will use it for?

Well, it will be used for hunting roe deer, boar and so.

Thanks for looking

Cheers all

I was in France last year and picked up a French hunting magazine.
It was devoted to boar hunting.les sanglier !
There were a lot of ads devoted to slug ammo for shotguns.
Being a 16 bore fan I noted that there were a reasonable amount of slugs available for 16,s
The magazine if I recall correctly was called La Chasse.
Hope this might be of help to you.

vegard_dino, if that's a high-quality modern drilling..... you could have the chamber altered to the 70mm (2 3/4") length.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes, but, I like to keep the drilling in the original caliber.

But, yes, it will be better in all way´s to have it done..and give me more power to.

Can you post some photos of your drilling....I'm sure many would like to drool over it.

If posting is a problem just email them to me and I'll post them for you

You will have a very difficult time finding factory loaded slugs for that chamber length.

Have you considered reloading your own slugs?

Good luck in your endeavor!

Hi don

Oh , yes, I know.
So, yes, have to reload my own slugs.
Just seeking some information on what slugs that are on the marked and so.

And also like to hear from anyone who hunt with them, to find out witch one is a good slug, bullet, or not.

Thank you for the reply

Rottweil shells with Brenneke slugs are still available with 67.5 mm shells:

That would be my first trial, in a gun with smokeless proof.
