The NV5600 will withstand anything a 5.9 can crank out H.O. or otherwise. New Venture went out of business.

$35.00/year will answer any and all of your Dodge Diesel questions over at Turbodieselregister.com.

Fewer and fewer people know how to drive standard. The electronically controlled transmissions with close spaced gears and dual over drives actually get better mileage that do the standards and the latest iteration is holding up pretty well behind the 6.7.

I daily drive 2003.5 2500 SLT 4x4 Quadcab H.O. NV5600. 3.73. Silencer ring from turbo found home in top of toolbox. UnaGoose, Tekonsha Prodigy, SMARTY, AIRDOG 100

If I ain't rollin' Coal, I ain't rolling. shocker

And 30MPG?

Mine is a '96 so fully mechanical with no chip. My mileage with both engine and transmission stock has been 17-20 MPG city or highway (not much different) and 12 MPG with the huge "white whale" (cabover camper) on board.

The transmission is done and the engine is getting mods as we speak. Once I get the truck back and run a few tanks of diesel through it I will let you know what the mileage is.

Realistic guesstimate is an increase of 2 - 4 MPG with the mods, especially with the camper or a load.

Cheers
Jim

You might not get away with it living in Jersey but after the warranty is up you may want to consider doing a delete on it. Word is the mileage and power increases quite a bit.

Sweet! I keep thinking I should tweak my 2006 5.9 a bit, but it performs really well as is. Not that I wouldn't mind a bit more power and fuel economy, particularly when towing our 26 foot Jayco.

Do you have emission testing in NM? If not, doing a delete on the truck would improve performance and mileage.

Not in my part of the state. There's not much to delete though, just a cat. Mine predates the DPF and DEF found on newer models - one of the reasons I sought a 2006 5.9. I could cut the cat, improve airflow up front, and play with electronics to get more out of it. Just not sure it's worth the money that could pay for another hunting trip. Smiler

I hear you. You also have more stock power than my '96 had. It's a whole different truck now.

Cheers
Jim

Just finished the first trip with the "white whale" camper aboard since the mods. Enormous increase in power without an increase in EGT.

The mileage increased about 2 MPG as well.

I love the exhaust brake.

Cheers
Jim

For some reason it cost a lot more for yours. I also had to change to 60# exhaust springs for some added cost. Still worth it if you have any loaded long descents in your travels.

BD Exhaust Brake
