I have an M-1 Garand and the bore has been welded shut. I have a new barrel for it and am wanting someone to remove the old welded barrel and install the new one.

Does anyone out there want this job?

I believe the CMP now has a custom shop that does just what you need... among other things.

I can do it for you. I install short chambered barrels on M1's and M14's all the time. Is it just the bore plugged with weld, or is the barrel tacked to the receiver?

Possibly, but I was unable to find it.

Probably a drill rifle; specs called for the barrel to be welded to the receiver; they usually are to varying degrees.

The chamber is welded shut and there is a very light tig on the barrel where it attaches to the receiver.

I have milled the tack away

I can send you the barreled acton fully stripped from the gun and the "new " barrel.

Do you need more than that.....and please PM me with the cost to attach the new barrel.
