The two lovely ladies did join us.

Maktoum brought two ebikes.

One you can actually pedal, and the other is like a motor bike.

The girls had an absolutely smashing time - in more ways than one1

Falling down and getting stuck.

Some of the boys were not far behind either.

Our English friend got stuck.

No one would help him, so his neighbor from the north, a Scotsman, decided to help.

He got him out, then HE got stuck.

The Englishman never looked back!

The ladies said "it is all worth coming here just for the laughs!"

We left the Scotsman to his own devices for a bit, then a Chilean and another Englishman decided to go help.

All they did was dig the vehicle deeper into the sand.

Maktoum felt sorry for them, so he went and dug him out.

The Scotsman is our cameraman, and he had lost most of the morning stuck.

No matter.

He got hold of my camera, and managed only 1062 photos! rotflmo

I brought breakfast, of all sorts of pastry, and coffee.

My wife brought some Japanese fluffy cheesecake.

Absolutely delicious.

Then the wind started to blow, but, by that time one bike was out of charge, so we packed up and headed out.

Saw the camel caravan and stopped to say hello.

Found a gentleman from Texas and his family in their camper there.

They had spent the night out in the desert.

They had two kids, who came to see the camels, and were not too sure about them.

I told them they are completely tame, and gave them some left over pastry to feed the camels.

Everyone enjoyed it

One of the ladies said this was the best morning she had this year.

I think we have to start thinking of something nasty for those women, or we will be swamped! rotflmo

Tell the women that part of the fee for use of the dunes is that you have to clean up the camel poop and then give them pooper scoopers and drop them off at one end of the track the camels take every day. Tell them you will take the 4 wheelers to the other end and work back to meet them.

The ladies are my best friends.

One promised to cook me my favorite meal I normally ask for when I go to their home.

She even asked when I would like to have it, as she knows we have visitors, and she was going to sent to our house.

I thought I would push my luck, and say Saturday.

Saturday we have our soccer evenings, and a whole bunch of men turn up to eat.

No fazing her at all..

Next Saturday we are having the best Egyptian dish that I know.

Quail, rice and okra sauce!

We had plans to go fly microlights this morning.

The weather decided we should not.

Too windy.

So a BBQ by the pool instead.

I wonder if anyone noticed any differences from last week?

We actually had our breakfast about 200 meters from the dune we were on last week when the kids went quad biking!

Others thought we were miles away, had to show them on the drone footage.

City dwellers, would get lost there in no time at all. rotflmo

You can see the sand blowing in the 7th photo from last.

Nice to see at least you have some confidence in me!

Met some campers there, everyone was asking what everyone did for a living.

Someone asked me, and before I could say a word, someone else answered for me "he is a trouble maker"!

End of story! rotflmo

I might have played a trick or two on people in my life, but I am nowhere near the monster I have been made to be!

At least this reputation helps others avoid me rotflmo

You have heard the old saying "some mothers do have them".

It seems we have plenty of them here.

I sent pictures to friends on Whatsapp, they have been telling others it was taken by a drone!

I am getting messages asking what drone, what camera, how did I manage to angel the camera up etc!

This is going to be fun! rotflmo

Those high camel shots look like messages written in a foreign language! Love the pics of the oryx! Saeed: Some of the camels in your first few pics have large 'pockets' or lumps on their necks. What are they, if you know?

I have no idea what these lumps are.

Probably normal things happen to them during certain time of year??

Went out yesterday with visiting friends, and all had a blast.

Photos to follow later.

More wonderful pics! tu2 I see that you now have at least one female that might have decided to become a permanent fixture on your outings! clap But, there's not much that you can do about stopping that particular one from joining you! clap I can just hear it now: "Why Saeed, this is soooooo much fun being with you in the great out of doors! I think that I will join you in Tanzania next year, my darling!" rotflmo clap rotflmo As an aside, what are the names of the mountains in the background?

I think the only woman who is likely to go to Tanzania is Hessa.

The ladies you see in these photos are wives and girl friends of friends.

And taking them out to the desert for day is all they get! rotflmo

The mountains are at our border with Oman.

Some of the photos above show two cars and a small green tent.

I have no idea who these people are, but they were camping over night, and we could see how happy they were to see the camels come into their camp feeding.

I said to the husband of one of the ladies who were were us that the camel keeper was offering 25 camels for his wife.

His answer was "what is wrong with the camels?" clap

Saeed: Don't you know?! It's your magnetic and suave personality, combined with your good looks and masculinity! rotflmo clap rotflmo Of course, your ageless experience and perhaps a little of your ongoing treachery and trickery, also contributes to your overall persona and aura with those of the female persuasion. jumping rotflmo It certainly cannot be the lead that you've ingested over the years! rotflmo clap rotflmo

Do people there prefer swimming in the lakes (freshwater) or the sea? Do the gazelles and ibex come to the lakes for water or do they have only small need for water.

These lakes are very small, and are only camping.

Swimming is not allowed there.

The gazelles might drink from the lakes, but I am not sure.

Water and food is provided at certain places for them.

HELP!

I am failing, miserably, in trying to dissuade the women from coming along!

One rode in my car, driving in the desert.

When we were finished, we stopped by the main road so she can go to her husband's car.

I said to him "Here she is, you can have her back. You are going straight to heaven, having put up with here for so long. Two hours in my car, and I am glad to get rid of her!"

She gets out of the car, gives me a hug, laughs and says "see you next week!"

What does one have to DO to keep them away?? Confused

Probably would be a good idea to have a couple more eggs in a cooler with a few more beers so that when you get it stuck you can tell her it's her turn to shovel and while she's in the back getting the shovel out bring me another beer and an egg out of the cooler.
