Dogs are far more weird and idiosyncratic than humans.

My German shepherd refuses to get into a car from the right side. He will only get into a car from the left side.

When any guest overnight he worries about them and sleeps outside their guest bedroom door. He then gets depressed when they leave.

I don’t think he really likes me. He looks at me as his boss Big Grin

Stop bossing him and be his buddy might help.

Dogs are acting only the way they're trained most
of the time.

Maybe he's just a good judge of character? :-)

Mike, my shepherd used to play hide and seek with me. That dog had a great sense of humor.

We have three poodles, of different size.

The oldest one is Sassy, she is a small poodle, gold color.

Mika, medium size cross with something, black.

And Alaska, giant poodle and pure white.

They have no idea that they are dogs.

They think our sole existence is to play with them.

My wife thinks I play rough with them.

But they all love it, and seem to never want to leave me alone!

The amazing thing is I can do absolutely anything I want with them, total trust.

I cannot imagine a home with no dogs.

I can't either, Saeed. Honestly believe they are a gift from God.

It is because you don't move very much.

I move minimum cross state lines, half way across the country or globally every 2 to 3 years.

Having pets would make it so much worse.

When I retire I'll get a dog. Problem is that the dog I imagine I'd like now German Wire Haired pointer will probably be too much dog for me when I get older.

That is what happened to my father, he bought a GWP about 15 years ago and paid $1800 for her, and he couldn't manage her being on oxygen like he is.

At least I am a lot healthier but who knows.

Seth, try a Pudelpointer. Your wife and kids will thank you endlessly ... Cool

We had a german shepard.

When a woman came in he'd shove his
nose to the eyeballs in their crotch.

Wife would tell them that's George's wish.

One, Darla told Shep she would gladly take him
home!

IT just depends on dogs! and owners too of course.

She probably had a big jar of peanut butter ready for him!

Last night, our Airdale went into the bedroom before we did; having had a hard day playing with our son's dog. When we went in, she was asleep in her usual place, against the closet door. She was using my wife's t-shirt and one of my slippers as a pillow.
She seems to be convinced that anything she sees on the television is actually outside, behind the TV. The sight of a deer on the TV will send her outside where she will circle the house to run the animal off. Regards, Bill.

That is awesome, there's actually some logic there, just not quite enough...

Shumba's the same just reversed (he is stuck on the passenger side). He learned to "load up" on that side (he loves to go in the truck) and you can literally watch it tear him apart if the only option you give him is drivers side, but he wont do it.
