Okay guys, just got my newest Lapua with a 30" bbl w/brake and it is 53" inches long. Ordered an extra long gun case from Americase but discovered it isn't deep enough (only 3.5"). Do any of you have an recommendations? I am looking at CaseClub model CC3410IMPE - any experience with them? Any other suggestions?

Just got another booth invite from SHOT Show.

www.mycasebuilder.com offers custom cut out foam inserts/liners for their cases.

Thanks guys; my gunsmith recommended AmericaCase because his Pelicans are taking a beating, but the locks on the AmeriCase seem pretty flimsy; I would rather use my own - esp if TSA needs to get in there - cut locks are cheap.

I use a long SKB case for my H&H Single with the 27" barrel. I have used SKB cases to travel to several states including Alaska. I have also used them on trips to South America and Europe.

If a lock breaks SKB will send you another free of charge. They are very easy to reinstall. I had to break the locks once because I lost the key. I contacted them, told them what happened, and they sent two locks for free anyway. I have never had one of the locks break in transit. They have wheels and are easy to move around airports and hotels. They also come with lifetime warranty and $1500 coverage against damage to the contents!

They offer one rifle case with an interior that is 56.00" x 16.00" x 9.00". It has six latches and six steel reinforced padlock holes. The latches are not keyed but they offer TSA latches to replace the latches that come with the case. I suggest replacing at least two of the latches with TSA type and also using at least two padlocks. As I mentioned, removing and replacing the latches is easily accomplished from inside the case.

The case is 3i-5616-9B-L - https://www.skbcases.com/sports/sku.php?cat=9&pid=185
