To add a bit of eccentricity and confusion; Spider Firearms, makers of the Ferret-50 (AR-based uppers), will be producing uppers in Mike Harris' .338 Harris, which is essentially a shortened .50 BMG case, necked down to .338. They are claiming velocities of 3800 fps, with a 250-grain pill, so save up for barrels to accompany your reloading essentials.
